"I started training with Professor Nick when I was in high school. Now I am married with three kids in Astoria, Oregon, USA.

I was Nick’s first Blue Belt in Astoria in 2003. I have trained and taught at various dojos before and after that time. Over the last four years I have taught Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at my local Tae Kwon Do dojo. 

​

I looked into some different affiliation programs for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and they all wanted me to “dance to their tune,” which would have defeated my purpose. I believe that Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is an art that motivates men to showcase their strengths.

My Tae Kwon Do instructor, whom I have also known for many years, encouraged me to contact my original Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Professor. I was pleased to reconnect with Nick and find out that he has a way of encouraging you to “make your own music”.
